My Voice is designed for ease of use, but to help address any technical issues that might arise, we’ve gathered answers to the most common troubleshooting questions received from administrators.
What are the basic technical requirements needed to access the site?
You'll need a computer equipped with a modern browser.
How do I ensure that the My Voice survey works in our computer lab?
Because schools have different technical requirements, we recommend testing your school’s unique survey link on a computer in the computer lab that will be used for survey administration, to confirm that it works properly. (Your school’s survey administrator can provide you with this link.)
Then, prior to survey administration, complete the following steps on each computer that will be used for survey administration:
The survey is now ready for participants to complete. (Note: ensure that the survey is open to the introductory instruction page before each participant takes the survey. Each participant must start by selecting “Begin the Survey”.)
I can’t access some parts of the My Voice website.
If, when you attempt to access or use the My Voice site, you receive a message that says the page can't be opened or the server can't be found, you probably have a firewall issue.
Some organizations and schools prevent individuals from accessing unauthorized websites by setting up a firewall. Many school network administrators "allow" a predetermined list of websites, and all others become inaccessible from that school's network. This can be easily fixed by providing the Pearson Foundation URL (pearsonfoundation.org) and your school’s survey URL (found under “Active Surveys”) to your Internet network administrator and asking her to add it to the list of "allowed" sites.
