  • 2011 My Voice National Report
  • The 2011 My Voice National Student Report documents why students’ voices matter. Developed as the result of research and inquiry into school systems throughout the United States, the My Voice Survey has been taken by more than half a million students. The Pearson Foundation and the Quaglia Institute for Student Aspirations created My Voice so that all educators can improve today’s teaching and learning environments by listening to students and understanding how to support their aspirations.

  • 2010 My Voice National Report
  • Results continue to reveal several gaps that must be closed to improve student engagement and academic success:

    • Relationships: most students believe they can be successful, yet fewer think their teachers believe in them.
    • Participation: students think school can be fun and beneficial to their future, yet they do not feel engaged in school.
    • Expectations: students believe they have leadership abilities, but they do not believe their school fosters development of this skill.

    • Relationships: students want to achieve their goals, however they do not feel teachers recognize them when they do their best.
    • Participation: students enjoy learning new things, yet they do not feel they are encouraged to be creative in school.
    • Expectations: students believe they can be successful, however they do not necessarily feel they can make a difference in this world.
